Nine years and 212 logged expeditions since Fathom’s first dive in 2017. Roughly 60% biological survey work, 25% geological and mapping work, and the rest split between equipment testing dives and a handful of wreck-site surveys we don’t publicize widely at the request of the relevant maritime authorities.
We’re using the milestone to publish an updated version of our public methodology notes, available on the Field Kit reference the institute maintains for other small research operators trying to run a similar model on a similar budget.
