Between the Wagner and Sibelius surveys, we’ve now logged six previously undocumented cold-water coral colonies to a shared regional registry maintained jointly with two partner research groups.
The registry doesn’t include exact coordinates for undesignated sites — entries are deliberately generalized to seamount-level location only, a standard practice across the partner groups to reduce the risk of targeted disturbance before any formal protection status is in place.
